Elegies for the Years' End is a song cycle I designed around the wonderful poetry of Frank Lima. He is with out doubt one of our great poets. He was raised on east 100th street in Manhattan. I have known him for over 39 years.
The song cycle is composed of seven songs, five are included here: "Iconos", "Lilacs", "100 years", "Elegies for the Year's End", and "Solitude" missing are "Absence" and "Sonata for Cello and Psyche". This performance is at Juilliard in Lincoln Center. Elegies for the Years' End feature my favorite tessituras bass-baritone and mezzo soprano. This performance was at Juilliard Lincoln Center by performers 'Vanessa Ayers and Brian Matthews' wonderful musicians.
