about

This was a collaboration between Kurt Vonnegut and Michael Brecker and myself. Kurt wrote the text after hearing Andrew Lloyd Weber's requiem. He felt strongly that the text needed to be humanized and that God was a pan natural force neutral and unjudging.
Michael Brecker a former composition student supplied post production and performed three wonderful solos based upon excerpts from the music itself. This was a 10 year project from first meeting Kurt to the CD release.
Richard Auldon Clark and his Manhattan Chamber orchestra masterfully interpreted the score.
Ray Evans Harrell performed the music with his Magic Circle Opera Company and edited the choral score and stream lined the ensemble/choral. I owe him a great debt as I do all the artists who worked on this project.
The composition is dedicated to the Cherokee Nation with whom Ray Evans Harrell is a proud member.
